Let's Go Back to the Bible

The way to God’s heart

It has been joked that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and the way to a woman’s heart is through flowers and diamonds. (It’s a joke!) Of course, every person is different, so “the way” to each person’s heart is also different.

Have you ever wondered what is the way to God’s heart (if such a question could be asked)? Another way of saying, “the way to a person’s heart,” is to talk about what truly “pleases” a person. With that in mind, consider this.

The way to God’s heart is to have true “faith” in Him (Heb. 11:6), to “please” Him rather than man (2 Tim. 3:4), to “do” and to “speak” those things that please Him rather than man (Gal. 1:10; 1 Thess. 2:4), to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Phil. 2:12-13), to “do good and to share” (Heb. 13:16), to “do His will” in “every good work” (Heb. 13:21), to “keep His commandments” (1 John 3:22), to “sacrifice” yourself for His cause (Phil. 4:18), to “walk worthy” of Him (Col. 1:10; 1 Thess. 4:1). Have you found “God’s heart”?
