Let's Go Back to the Bible

The “Know Better” family

Have you met the “Know Better” family? It’s a growing and rather influential “family”! There are those who “Know Better” than the elders of the church, or the ones who “Know Better” than the nice sandwich-maker at the deli, or those who “Know Better” than the driver still sitting at a green light while a slow pedestrian crosses in front of him.

The “Know Better” family is pretty easy to recognize—their family members all look alike. They are usually the ones questioning every word or action of another, making snide comments on the side, conniving others to their side of things, yelling, honking, etc. And they are often (maybe usually) doing this when they do not have all of the information (but that doesn’t matter to them).

Friends, if you are in God’s family, then you have no business being in the “Know Better” Family! God’s people are humble (Phil. 2:3), patient (2 Tim. 2:24) and kind (1 Pet. 3:8). They practice the Golden Rule (Luke 6:31), give the benefit of the doubt (1 Cor. 13:7) and are never rude (1 Cor. 13:5). Which family are you in?
