Psalm 124 begins with these words, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side” (Psa. 124:1). How bad would it have been? “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive…then the waters would have overwhelmed us” (124:2-4). Have you ever felt that way? If it 
hadn’t been for the Lord, there’s no telling how bad that would have been!
David goes on to conclude: “Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth…Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth” (124:6-8). Things were looking pretty bad, but God would not allow us to be caught in the trap and overcome!
If the Lord is on your side, you can rejoice to know that, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31). Our help comes from the Lord! Read Psalm 124 and rejoice to know that the God who protected Israel is the God who protects you!
