Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Please enter access code”

Have you ever tried to log in to a computer and it asked for a password?  Have you ever tried to access a protected website, get money from the ATM, enter a secured building, etc.?  Everything wants a password or a code in order to gain access.

The word “access” is one of the sweetest words in the Christian language.  Romans 5:2 says that “we have access…into this grace.”  The book of Ephesians tells us that we “have access…to the Father” (2:18) and “in the Son” (3:11-12).  We “once were far off” (like some of those in Bible times), “having no hope and without God” (Eph. 2:12-13).  But now, because of the blood of Jesus Christ, we no longer have to stand on the outside.  Jesus gave us “the code” necessary to enjoy that precious access into the presence and grace of God.  He said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Matt. 7:21).  Thanks be to God for providing “an entrance” into His presence on this earth and His eternal presence in the everlasting kingdom (2 Pet. 1:11)!
