As Jesus approached the city of Jerusalem in the last week of His life, He sent two of His disciples into a village, “where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat” (Luke 19:30). Two verses later, they “found it just as He had said to them” (19:32). A few days later, Jesus sent Peter and John to prepare the Passover, telling them that they would meet “a man…carrying a pitcher of water,” who would lead them to a house with a “large, furnished upper room” (Luke 22:8-12). In the very next verse, they “found it just as He had said to them” (22:13). A few days later, a group of women came to the tomb of Jesus and found it empty. An angel told them, “He is risen! He is not here…as He said to you” (Mark 16:4-7).
The disciples continually found things “just as Jesus said” they would be! Friends, so it is with us! We have found, in Christ, “life…more abundantly” than any others (John 10:10) and will one day be with Him “where He is” (John 14:3), just as He said!
