Some claim that Jesus talks to them today. Well, the Bible says that it contains “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Pet. 1:3) and “all truth” that has been given God (John 16:13), and that God’s Word has been “once for all delivered” (Jude 3). So, if Jesus speaks to anyone today, He is going against His own word that says we are “thoroughly equipped” (2 Tim. 3:17).
BUT, while Jesus is not going to talk directly TO you today, did you know that He talks ABOUT you? We don’t usually like it when others talk about us, but there is nothing better than to know that Jesus talks about you! Right now, He is “in the presence of God for us” (Heb. 9:24), where “He always lives to make intercession for” us (Heb. 7:25), as our “Advocate with the Father” (1 John 2:1).
When one of God’s faithful children succumbs to sin and has a penitent heart pricked by godly sorrow for that sin (1 John 1:7, 9), the One who shed His blood to save us from our sins (Eph. 1:7) constantly intercedes with the Father to keep on forgiving us of our sins! What an immeasurable blessing!
