Think of the things in your life that tend to “run out.” The gas in your car is always running out. The supplies in your house of food, paper goods and cleaning products are always running out. What about your energy level? Running out? What about your patience level? Running out?
The reality is that even your days on this earth are running out. David described our days as being “like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone” (Psa. 103:15-16). “But” (the first word in the next verse), do you know something that is NOT running out?
“But,” instead of running out, “the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him…who remember His commandments to do them” (103:17-18). God’s “lovingkindness” (NASB), His “steadfast love” (ESV) does NOT run out…like everything else in your life! You can count on it to always be there for you, as you continue to need it so desperately on a daily basis! What a thought!
