There comes a point at which God will no longer allow His name to be maligned and profaned and He must act. Ezekiel prophesied to the Israelites how and why they were in captivity. In Ezekiel 20, God reminded Israel of how they had rejected Him and rebelled against His ways.
“They rebelled against Me and would not obey Me…But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned…Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the in the wilderness…But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned… Notwithstanding, the children rebelled against Me…Nevertheless I withdrew My hand and acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be profaned…Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have dealt with you for My name’s sake…I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned” (20:8-9, 13-14, 21-22, 44; 36:22).
Is the day coming when God will act for His name’s sake again? Against me? Against you? Against the church? Against America? Against all creation? God help us!
