Let's Go Back to the Bible

Feed your soul on sound doctrine

If you ate fruits and vegetables and had a steady diet of nutrient-rich foods, BUT you dabbled in a little rat poison every once in a while, how do you think that would work out for you? It would lead to your demise, no matter what healthy foods you ate.

Do you know this applies in the spiritual realm, as well? As a little physical poison can lead to your death, so a little spiritual poison can lead to your spiritual demise. As Christians, we must feast on the Word of God (Jer. 15:16)—both the “milk” and the “meat” of the Word (1 Pet. 2:2; Heb. 5:12-14). That is our sustenance for spiritual survival and development. But, when someone dabbles in the false doctrines that are prevalent and so easily accessible on the internet today, he poisons his soul with “destructive heresies,” which bring “destruction” because of “their destructive ways,” which are violently against “the way of truth” (2 Pet. 2:1-2).

That sounds dangerous, doesn’t it? Let us develop a deep “love of the truth,” so that we have no appetite for the “delusion” of “the lie” (2 Thess. 2:10-11).
