There are those tough choices that we face in life that are better made WITH God than WITHOUT God (i.e., praying for wisdom and guidance through the decision process). Then, there is a different type of choice that we face in life which involves the temptation to sin against God. This is not a matter of choosing between Option A and Option B (where neither option is sinful), but a matter of choosing between right and wrong, righteousness and sinfulness.
We know that Moses was faced with such a decision, for Scripture reveals that Moses “refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin” (Heb. 11:24-25). The next verse says that he made this choice because he (1) looked to Christ and (2) looked to the reward.
Satan is going to throw all sorts of “choices” (i.e., temptations) in our way on a daily basis. May we, like Moses, recognize sin for what it is and choose to live FOR God rather than self!
