Let's Go Back to the Bible

What’s wrong (or right) with “that generation”?

Probably every generation since Adam has looked at the next generation and wondered, “What’s wrong with ‘that generation’?” The next generation never seems to quite “live up” to the expectations of the generation before it. However, could we possibly look at a generation and say, “What’s right with ‘that generation’?” I would suggest to you that when you boil it all down, what’s right or what’s wrong with a generation is tied directly to one central component.

In the beautiful words of Psalm 145, David acclaimed, “I will extol You, my God, O King…Every day I will bless You…Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised…One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts…And I will declare Your greatness.”

And there-in those words penned 3,000 years ago-is the central component to everything that’s right about any given generation and everything that’s wrong about any given generation. When one generation praises God’s works to another and declares His mighty acts (or when a generation fails to do that), that one factor will determine a generation’s course!
