Let's Go Back to the Bible

So many different means and paths, right?

If you wanted to travel from where you are to St. Louis, Missouri, how would you get there?  First of all, what means of travel would you take?  The options are numerous: plane, train, automobile, boat, bus, bike, horse, camel, hot air balloon, wheelchair, pogo stick, etc.  Which one would you choose?  Next, once you determined your means of travel, what pathway of travel would you choose?  The options again would be numerous: take the direct route on a straight line, take the “scenic” route, take a detour through other favorite destinations first, stick to the highways, stick to the back roads, take direct flights, try multiple layovers to save money, etc.  When we think about travel, we have so many choices!  And we love being able to choose!

Now, some folks like to think they have the same variety of options when it comes to “traveling” from where they are to heaven.  They think they can choose the means by which to get to heaven, but there is only ONE (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).  They think they can choose the pathway, but there is only ONE (Matt. 7:14, 21; Heb. 5:9).  The only option that God has given man in “traveling” to heaven is this one — go or don’t go.  That’s it!  His way is the only way!  –– DS
