In the midst of troublesome subjugation from his adversaries, David affirmed that true God-seekers will always seek to keep their focus on the Lord! He cried out with urgency at the start of Psalm 70, “Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Make haste to help me, O Lord!” Then again at the end, he pleaded, “You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.”
Do you have that kind of relationship with God? Do you have that kind of dependence on God? In the heart of these pleas unto the Lord is this appeal to true God-seekers (70:4) — “Let all those who seek You rejoice…” Do you rejoice to have the Lord and to serve the Lord (cf. Phil. 4:4)? “Let all those who seek you…be glad in You.” Are you glad to have the Lord and to serve the Lord (Phil. 2:18; 1 Pet. 4:13)? “And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified!'” Do you love His salvation (Psa. 51:12)? Do you say continually (in everything you do in your day), “Let God be magnified” (Phil. 1:20)?
Read Psalm 70:4 again-four challenging objectives. Is that you? Does it describe you?
