Let's Go Back to the Bible

Approved by God?

God does not conceal at all what is required for one to be approved by Him; He makes such abundantly clear in His Word, even going so far as to even use the word “approved” so that we wouldn’t miss it. To be “approved” of God, here are two things that we must do.

The first one is found in 2 Timothy 2:15. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God.” Ok, how does one do that? The verse continues, “…handling aright the word of truth” (ASV). To be approved of God, one must properly study and use God’s Word in the way that God intended, not in the way that man   prefers.

The second one is found in 1 Thessalonians 2:4. “But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.” Christians have been entrusted with the gospel; God’s approval is determined by how one teaches it. If one teaches the Bible in order to please men, he is not approved by God! He must “so speak” as he has been entrusted — the Word of God to the pleasing of God!
