Let's Go Back to the Bible

The head of the church is NOT changing!

With the changes taking place in the Catholic Church and the “shake-up” at the top–with “the head” of the Church resigning and the process of installing a “new head” beginning–let us be reminded of and rejoice in the simplicity of New Testament Christianity. Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus built His church (Matt. 16:18), died for His church (Eph. 5:25) and “purchased [His church] with His own blood” (Acts 20:28). There is only one church (Eph. 4:4), it belongs to Christ (Eph. 1:22-23), He is its only head and to Him belongs all preeminence (Col. 1:18).

Therefore, the head of the church will never change! He will never resign! He will never need or seek a replacement! He will never relinquish His authority (remember that He has “all authority,” Matt. 28:18) to any man! He will never accept any man taking His place!

The Lord’s planis flawless, timeless and changeless! One’s faith, one’s allegiance, one’s submission and one’s hope should never be placed in any man of this earth, but only in THE “head of the church” and THE “Savior of the body” (Eph. 5:23; Matt. 23:8-10; Phil. 2:5-11).
