What a smart girl! Instead of listening to what so many in the world would have her to believe, the 9-year-old young lady used the brain that God gave her and figured it out on her own. She came out of worship on Sunday and said, “If Adam and Eve were the first people, and they had children, and then those had children, then isn’t everybody related?” Ding, ding, ding, ding! Yes!
Our society wants us to draw lines of division all between us, separating us into “this category” of people and “that category” of people, and then wanting us to be suspicious of those in the other “categories.” The Bible says that God “made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth” (Acts 17:26). The word “man” is in italics, as it is supplied by translators. The verse literally says that God made every person on earth “from one.”
Yes, we are all related! We are all distant cousins of each other! Even better, because of Jesus, we can all be related as “one” family in Christ (Gal. 3:28).
