Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Every house is built by someone”

Directly across the road from the church building is a house that has been abandoned for years.  It looks horrible.  Vegetation has grown up all around it.  Yet, even in its deplorable condition, no rational person would ever contradict that the house was built by someone.

Images from the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake show the “new homes” of thousands of Haitians, many of which are nothing more than four vertical posts of some kind with a flat roof-like cover.  Sad to think that the house across Leo Lane has more to offer with its walls, doors and windows (“luxuries” many Haitians do not enjoy).  Yet, it would remain a difficult task to find a rational person who would deny that the Haitian house (very simple) was built by someone.

Now, think about the rest of Hebrews 3:4 – “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.”  The earth and its universe are infinitely more complex than any house.  If every house you see was built by someone, where did this earth originate?
