Nearly every Christian, at some point, has probably “become weary and discouraged.” Due to the relentless efforts of Satan (1 Pet. 5:8), the cares of this world (Luke 8:14) and the enslaving nature of sin (Jn. 8:34), a follower of Christ can sometimes grow fainthearted. What can we do?
God tells you, “lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls,” to “consider [Christ]” (Heb. 12:3). Focus your mind on your Savior. God continues, “consider Him who endured.” When we grow weary and discouraged, may our minds look to our example, who never quit but continued to endure. God continues, “consider Him who endured such hostility form sinners.” Meditate on all that Jesus went through, all that evil men did to Him. God continues, “consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself.” What had He done wrong? Absolutely nothing! Nevertheless, He endured it against Himself FOR US!
Whenever you get down as a Christian, consider Christ and all He endured for us!
