Let's Go Back to the Bible

Your run-walk

Those who compete in foot races all compete at different levels of intensity and for different reasons. In a single “race” or marathon, there may be some who run the whole distance, some who walk the whole distance and others who run-walk the whole distance (running some and walking some). As a Christian, which would you identify as the best depiction of your life?

Interestingly, the Bible uses both running and walking to describe the Christian life. “We also should walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4). “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7). “Walk in love…walk as children of light…walk circumspectly” (Eph. 5:2, 8, 15). “Walk in the light as He is in the light” (1 John 1:7). “Run in such a way that you may obtain [the prize]” (1 Cor. 9:24). “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Heb. 12:1).

As a Christian, there are times when we are running our race, and there are time when we are walking. The key is that we are always moving forward and doing so with the Lord!
