Let's Go Back to the Bible

What to do when a Christian is beheaded

News report: “There is an obvious target being placed upon Christians, and the thugs behind the attacks are not satisfied with anything short of murder. Extreme persecution and violence is the order of the day. Just the other day a Christian was beheaded, and so now the question is, ‘What will Christians do?'”

The above paragraph (notice the quotation marks) could have been written 1,970 years ago, when Herod Agrippa I “laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church” and “killed James the brother of John with the sword” (Acts 12:1-2, ESV). Acts 12 answers the question regarding what Christians would do — “earnest prayer…was made to God by the church” (12:5).

Substitute ISIS for Herod Agrippa and realize that they have you, as a Christian, on their target list. Question: What should we be doing? Answer: Making earnest prayer to God! Are you doing that? Are you praying? Are you ready to stand for (and die for) your faith? Pray! — DS
