Let's Go Back to the Bible

‘Tis the season

As we enter this season of receiving, remember that it’s not the wrapping job but how much the person spent on the gift that matters. Remember that it’s not the thought but the cost of the gift that counts. Remember those two little words to say after opening the gift–“That’s it?”

While these opening words are intended to be a bit satirical, how many people do they actually describe? How many people view this time of year as the “season of receiving”? How many people, actually, live by the daily and year-round philosophy, “It is most blessed to receive”?

From the beginning of time, it has always been about “giving” for God! He has given, and given, and given to us! The “season of giving” began in Genesis chapter one and has continued to the present time. Are you celebrating God’s season of giving? The life of Jesus, the example of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus and the words of Jesus demonstrate clearly the real year-round philosophy of success, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
