Let's Go Back to the Bible

Things you can’t control

Does it make you angry when someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you come close to losing your temper when the cable is out and the company is unresponsive? Does it just about put you over the top when you find out that someone has been talking about you behind your back?

In those three scenarios, there are some things that we can control and some things that we can’t control. We can’t control what someone else says or does, and we can’t control when services (like cable) might be unavailable. It is critical that we learn to put things that we cannot control into a “box” in our minds and mark it, “Can’t control these!” (Close your eyes! Look at the label! “Can’t control these!”) But, there is something that we can control–our response.

Whether I lose my temper or not is up to ME! How I handle the maltreatments, uncertainties and inconveniences of life is TOTALLY within MY control! When life throws you a knuckle ball, remember that the one thing you can (and must) control is YOU (1 Pet. 3:8-12)!
