Let's Go Back to the Bible

The richest homes in America

In January 2017, the most expensive home ever listed in America was put on the market in Bel Air, Los Angeles for $250 million. The home had everything that anyone could ever want, including a helicopter, car collection, twenty-one bathrooms and $200,000 worth of candy. But, did you know that your home can be much more valuable than that?

The wise Solomon wrote, “In the house of the righteous there is much treasure” (Prov. 15:6) or “great wealth” (NASB). The treasure in the home of the righteous is much more valuable than any material wealth in any earthly home. Rather than “things” (Luke 12:15) that are subject to wear, tear, decay and theft (Matt. 6:19; 1 Tim. 6:17), the righteous enjoy heavenly values, spiritual blessings, agape love, incomprehensible peace, inexpressible joy, living hope and the promise of an “incorruptible and undefiled” inheritance “that does not fade away” (1 Pet. 1:4).

How wealthy is your home? It has nothing to do with your checkbook or savings account!
