Let's Go Back to the Bible

Taking care of those who cannot take care of themselves

God has always been concerned about those who are less fortunate and cannot take care of themselves. When “God with us” came to this earth, it was prophesied that “the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing” (Isa. 35:5-6; cf. 29:18; 61:1; Matt. 11:5). Jesus instructed His disciples, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them” (Matt. 19:14). Christians are instructed to “visit orphans and widows in their trouble” and to “give [to] him who has need” (Eph. 4:27). We must care for those who need God’s care!

The very nature of God shows us what it means to care for others. God sent His Son to die for all mankind and save them from their sins, because there was not a single person who could take care of his own sins. God cares for those who cannot care for themselves! That’s all of us!

Who needs your care and protection? The unborn? The newly born? The long-ago born?
