Let's Go Back to the Bible

Taken captive to do his will

God’s desire is for His people to “know His will” (Acts 22:14; Rom. 2:18; Col. 1:9) and “do His will” (John 7:17; Heb. 13:21). But, there is another entity who wants us “to do his will.” Some Christians have strayed from “the truth,” and they need to “come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil,” for they have “been taken captive by him to do his will” (2 Tim. 2:25-26).

Some individuals live their days ignorant to the reality that they are actually pawns in the hand of Satan, doing his bidding and making a devastating impact on the world, according to his will. The temptation of sin is strong. The pleasure of sin is enticing. The blindness to sin is pervasive. And, too often, those who are engulfed in the power of the devil do not even realize that he “transforms himself into an angel of light” (2 Cor. 11:14).

Who is in control of your life? Whose will are you doing? Who are you seeking to please? Take time to evaluate your thoughts, your wishes, your decisions, against the will of God!
