Do you think the stripes in a parking lot are important? Some folks who have trouble parking straight might suggest removing them to make parking easier. Do you know when a parking lot is 
most chaotic? It’s when there are no stripes. Without stripes to designate where to park, drivers park anywhere and in any way they choose. Oftentimes, fewer cars are able to park, as drivers take up more space with their cars. It’s amazing how the lines make us more efficient.
Lines in a parking lot provide the standard. While some folks don’t like rules, this one illustration helps us to see that they are actually to our benefit. Now compare that with the Bible. God has painted “lines” in the parking lots of our lives, to indicate where to go and where not to go. As with anything, some folks would like to move or even remove those “lines” to make life “easier.” However, it is where people have totally rejected God’s “lines” that the most chaos exists.
