Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Jesus knows my every weakness”

In the midst of a crowd that the Bible says was “thronging Him,” a woman pushed her way through the mob in order that she might simply touch the garment of Jesus. When she touched the hem of His garment, Jesus knew that power had gone out from Him, but He didn’t keep walking. He stopped and talked with the woman.

Why this woman? In a crowd that was “thronging Him,” His disciples were amazed that He would be concerned about one touch, which was surely one among many. But what Jesus knew was something that no one else in that multitude knew–He knew what that woman had been going through for twelve years.

In a song aptly titled, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” the second verse says, “Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness: take it to the Lord in prayer.”
