Let's Go Back to the Bible

“It’s good for my health, which is good enough for me!”

It’s interesting how some Christians can find justification (even “Biblical justification,” in their minds) for their sinful behavior. For example, some Christians, knowing full-well that the Bible condemns the drinking of alcoholic beverages, have found solace in the medical professionals who recommend drinking in moderation for health benefits. As if doctors trump God’s Word!

Now, here’s the latest (perhaps) in this trend. The Health Care section of The Wall Street Journal just this week published an article entitled, “Living Together May Be Even Better for Your Health Than Marriage.” The article reported that the Journal of Health Economics “found that above age 45, people of both sexes who were living with someone but not married experienced a more positive effect on their health than those who were married.”

So, there you have it! Shack up, don’t marry, it’s better for your health, and that’s all that matters! Brethren, what matters is doing the will of our Father (Matt. 7:21-23)! May God help us to put His clearly-defined will above our own!
