Let's Go Back to the Bible

“How can I be happy in heaven if…”

It is sometimes wondered by folks who have family members who are not faithful Christians, “How can I be happy in heaven if my loved one is not there?” That is a tough, heart-wrenching thought to have. The bottom line is that we must trust our loving Father and compassionate Savior and know that the joy of heaven is not anything that we can possibly imagine here.

But, let’s consider this question another way. Is there someone in this life that you absolutely cannot stand? Is there someone who just rubs you the wrong way? Is there someone (even a brother or sister in Christ) who you might even think doesn’t belong in heaven after all they’ve done? Have you ever wondered: “How can I be happy in heaven if so-and-so is there?”

Happiness in heaven will be determined by God and not the presence (or absence) of any individual! But, I need to make sure that my attitude toward folks now is Jesus-like, for the last thing I need is the attitude of my heart (toward someone) to keep me from heaven!
