Let's Go Back to the Bible

“From one blood”

When police arrive on the scene of an accident where there is a small pool of blood remaining behind from one of the victims, do you know what the police can tell about the person from that blood? Besides the fact that a person has been injured to cause them to bleed, there is nothing about that blood (by looking at it) that can help an officer identify or even discriminate anything about the person. They cannot distinguish the person’s gender (cf. Gal. 3:28), ethnicity (cf. Acts 10:34), economic status (cf. Jas. 2:1-6), social class (cf. Eph. 6:5-9), etc. Think about that.

The apostle Paul told the idolatrous Athenians that God “made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth” (Acts 17:26). Every human being finds a common origin in Adam and Eve, i.e., in God Himself. (Look at those verses in the first paragraph.)

The next time you think about discriminating against someone based upon what they look like on the outside, remember that we are all designed identically on the inside!
