Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Bringing the phone call back!”

Two teenage girls, who live many miles apart and don’t get to see each other very often, made a recent decision. In their own words, “We’re bringing the phone call back!” While texting is super easy, these girls miss just getting to talk and hear each other laugh. Even with Facetime, they get tired of holding their phones a certain way or always being in front of the camera.

What a novel concept. Just pick up the phone (yes, that mobile device used for games, texting, pictures and email) and talk to someone. How often do you do that? Rather than send a text?

How rewarding would it be if you picked up your phone and called one of the widows at church? Or an elderly couple? Or someone who has been sick? Or someone who you haven’t seen in a while? Or someone who you think could use some encouragement? Or someone just to tell her that you thought about her and prayed for her today? How healthy would the church become if we took a few minutes each week and brought the phone call back?
