Let's Go Back to the Bible

Nose-blind

Have you ever thought about being “nose-blind”?  What is that?  Being “nose-blind” is one way of describing individuals whose nose and brain have adapted to (i.e., become blind to) smells in their environment.  Have you ever been around a person with bad body odor, or in someone’s home that had a “funny smell to it,” or in a neighborhood near a smelly factory, and you thought, “How can they live with this smell?”  Reason: They’re nose-blind!  They are not affected by the smell because the odor receptors in their brain have dismissed those smells as inconsequential.  2019-04-08-Nose-blind

What does that have to do with you as a Christian?  Have we become “nose-blind” to the putrid stench of immorality all around us?  At first, things like fornication, adultery, homosexuality, abortion, foul language, hatred, offensive speech, etc. may repulse our “holy” sense of smell, but after being around it for a while, can we become nose-blind to it?  Read Ephesians 4:17-24.  Let us refresh our “learning of Christ” and revive “the new man” in “true righteousness and holiness”!  Go get some fresh air in God’s Word, then “see” how smelly the world is!  – DS
