Let's Go Back to the Bible

Ignorance–a high price to pay

It is interesting to sit back and observe the arguments that people make and the positions that some take, when they do not actually have all of the facts but instead have a good amount of misinformation. This is true of some people’s knowledge of and response to certain historical events, scientific “evidence,” and even Biblical truths.

One could be ignorant about history and science, and they might be able to “get away with” that ignorance for a lifetime without any significant repercussions. But, when it comes to God’s Word, ignorance is costly! Many are ignorant of the essentiality of baptism to save us from sins (1 Pet. 3:21; Acts 2:38; 22:16). Such ignorance leaves one lost in sin. Many are ignorant of the singular nature of the Lord’s church (Eph. 4:4; 1:22-23; 1 Cor. 12:13). Such ignorance leaves one outside of Christ, wherein are all spiritual blessings (Eph. 1:3). And ultimately, those who remain ignorant of the will of God will be punished for all eternity (2 Thess. 1:8-9).

When it comes to God’s Word and spiritual matters, ignorance is not bliss!
