Let's Go Back to the Bible

He Always Settles the Final Score

The unchanging nature of God is the foundation of our faith. We do not serve a Master whom we might view as “the way He used to be.” Nor can He be viewed in “the way He will be.” James describes Him as the “Father of lights, with whom there is no variation” (James 1:17). He truly is the I AM. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

The writer of Hebrews looked back at the history of how God dealt with mankind. He said, “Every transgression and disobedience received a just reward” (Heb. 2:2). There was not one single instance where this was not true. Every transgression was rewarded!

When someone hurts you with words or deeds and you wish that you could just get even, but may feel helpless in doing it, just remember that He always settles the final score. So go ahead—turn the other cheek; return good for evil; bless those who curse you. You don’t have to settle the score—He will!
