Let's Go Back to the Bible

Have you reached your praying potential?

When my wife became pregnant with our first child, my prayers increased, and in a very specific way. When our girls were born, the prayers stepped up to another level. As they grew older and experienced life (including the teenage years), prayer seemed to reach an all-time high. My prayers could not (or so I thought) reach a level much higher. But, then I dropped my daughter at college and drove back home (1,000 miles away). The intensity and degree of prayer seemed to multiply by the millions, which shows me there is no limit on this thing called prayer!

All of this leads me to this question for all of us–how many of us think that we have reached our praying potential? “I can’t pray more than I do. I can’t pray more intently than I do. I’m capped out.” How many of us realize (truly) that there is no limit to this thing called prayer?

“Pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). “Continue earnestly in prayer” (Col. 4:2). That’s not just hyperbole or wishful thinking. What can you do to take your praying to the next level?
