Let's Go Back to the Bible

Four days later He died for them

The last Sunday that Jesus ever lived was a memorable day. As He rode into Jerusalem on the colt, multitudes cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Luke 11:1-9). But, the next day was not as “triumphal.” Jesus entered the temple, similar to the occasion three years earlier (John 2:13-22), and drove out the merchants and money-changers who were making His “house of prayer” into “a den of thieves” (Mark 11:15-17). Jesus was filled with a righteous anger against those who were still tarnishing the sacred place of worship. In all likelihood there were repeat offenders among this number whom Jesus furiously expelled.

If you were in Jesus’ place and once again there were individuals who were essentially “sinning against you,” what would you have done? More specifically, after driving them from the temple, what would you have done? He drove them out on Monday, then on Friday…He died for them!

When folks (even brethren) do us wrong, may we remember what Jesus did for His enemies!
