Can God get me out of this?

In fulfillment of prophecy, as Jesus was hanging on the cross, the religious leaders in voices of derision and blasphemy, jeered, "He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him" (Matt. 27:43; cf. Psa. 22:8). But, on that day, in order that we might be delivered by God one day in the future, the Father did not deliver the Son. Think about that for a moment!

When the devil tests us, are we on our own? When temptations round you gather, is it hopeless? They mocked Jesus for not being delivered, but what a blessing we enjoy as a result. God wants to "deliver" us and bids us to pray for such (Matt. 6:13). God has already "delivered" us (Col. 1:13), and with confidence we know that He "will deliver" us in the future (2 Tim. 4:18). Here's a comforting text: "The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations" (2 Pet. 2:9). He has the will, the power and the knowledge to deliver you!

Do you trust God to deliver you? Open your eyes! Look! He always provides an escape!
