Let's Go Back to the Bible

“. . . and now a word from our Sponsor”

Who has not heard the phrase, “. . . and now a word from our sponsor”? You are listening to the radio and, at some appropriate time, the regular course of your day is interrupted so you can get the message. I guess sponsors are necessary, but they just get in your way.

Consider for a moment that there is another Sponsor who would like to have a word with you. He truly is your Sponsor, “for in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). The food you have eaten today, the clothes you are wearing and the very air you are breathing come from that Sponsor.

Unlike the radio sponsor, this Sponsor will never interrupt your life and force His message on you. That’s simply not the way He works. He has a word for you, but it will not force itself into your life. You may not owe the radio sponsor anything, but you owe this Sponsor everything you have. So, why not take time today to pause and hear the word from your Sponsor?
