Let's Go Back to the Bible

Day 08: In triumphing over sin, remember that…God “forgives” (Psa. 103:3).

08

“Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13).

Take time to work on triumphing over sin TODAY and EVERY day.

1. Examine yourself. Do a personal introspection.

a. Ask yourself, “What am I struggling with the most? What is my besetting sin(s), that is constantly plaguing me?”

b. Identify the #1 sin with which you struggle, or your TOP TWO. (No more than three.)

2. Intensely pray about it today at least 2-3 (if not 5-6) times.

a. “Lord, please help me with this! I’m begging you, please help! I need you!”

b. “Lord, please help me to put this from my mind and put this behind me! I cannot do this without Your help!”

c. Thank God for (and earnestly contemplate) the Divine attribute of encouragement highlighted below for today.

3. Meditate upon and memorize a specific Bible verse(s) that addresses this issue.

(See this listing for possibilities.)

a. Recite this verse multiple times today.

b. Handwrite this verse today.

c. Quote this verse out loud every time you’re tempted in this area (just as Jesus did in Matthew 4:1-11).
