Let's Go Back to the Bible

Without the church?

How many times have you heard someone say it? Or, how many times have you said it yourself? Some tragedy happens, and as fellow Christians are working through it together, someone says, “I don’t know how folks in the world make it through times like this without the church!”  Isn’t that the truth!?

Only Christians share a deep (and almost inexplicable) connection with each other through the blood of Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:16). Only Christians can possess together “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding” (Phil. 4:7). Only Christians have the continual presence of Jesus Christ in their lives (Matt. 28:20). Only Christians live their lives together with their focus on a future home (Phil. 3:20-21). Only Christians understand, possess and jointly enjoy the hope that is found only in Jesus Christ, which acts as “an anchor of the soul” (Heb. 6:19-20).

Thank God for the church! Where would we be without our brothers and sisters in Christ? Unable to make it through life—that’s where we’d be!
