Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Are you having a boy or a girl?” “Neither!”

Some parents-to-be want to “find out what it is” before the child is born, and with the technological advances in recent decades, such is certainly possible (when it would have been unheard o f centuries ago). Some parents-to-be want to wait and just be surprised when the baby is born. (I can remember at the birth of our first child that I was so concerned about the baby’s health and Traci’s well-being that I totally lost sight of knowing whether “it was a boy or a girl” until the doctor said, “Congratulations! It’s a girl!”)

Some parents-not-to-be don’t care if it’s a boy or girl; they don’t care if the cord is wrapped around the baby’s neck; they don’t care if the heart rate is steady; they don’t care if there are 10 fingers and 10 toes; they don’t care what color the hair is; they don’t care whose eyes he/she has; they don’t care to witness the phenomenal experience of birth. Instead, these parents-not-to-be only care about themselves and would rather murder the precious, innocent, little life.

God help us to stand up and speak out for those little ones who cannot do so themselves!
