Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Lord, I need you right now!”

Most likely each of us has found ourselves in the same position that David did in Psalm 70.  Read these words and hear his heart, “Make haste, O God, to deliver me!  Make haste to help me, O Lord!” He looked at his enemies and those who were trying to hurt him and begged, “Let me be ashamed and confounded…Let them be turned back.” Then, he looked at the righteous and wished, “Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified!’”

Have you been there?  Have you cried out to God saying, “Lord, I need Thee every hour, but I especially need you right now”? The most wonderful thought is that God has promised His continual, abiding presence in our lives (Heb. 13:5).  Paul spoke to a crowd of idolaters, “God, who made the world and everything in it…is not far from each of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:24, 27-28).  So, David ends the psalm by pleading, “You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.”
