Let's Go Back to the Bible

Integrity — you’ve either got it or you don’t!

There may be some words in English that can be somewhat vague in their understanding and application – like “good” or “sincere” or even “devoted.” However, when it comes to the word “integrity,” there is nothing ambiguous about it! Being “a person of integrity” is one of the highest compliments one can receive. The word means “firm adherence to a code of moral and ethical values; soundness of moral character.” Notice God’s evaluation of this quality.

“He who walks with integrity walks securely,” for “the integrity of the upright will guide them” (Prov. 10:9; 11:3). “The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him” (Prov. 20:7). “Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich” (Prov. 28:6; cf. 19:1). “Whoever walks in integrity will be delivered,” for “the Lord…is a shield to those who walk in integrity” (Prov. 28:18; 2:7, ESV).

Are you a person of integrity? Can you, like Job, confidently affirm, “Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me…That God may know my integrity” (Job. 27:5; 31:6)?
