Let's Go Back to the Bible

How many loaves do you have?

Counting up all of the men, women and children, there were likely well over 10,000 people who had “continued with” Jesus “three days” and had “nothing to eat” (Matt. 15:32). Jesus wanted to feed them, but the disciples said, “Where could we get enough bread?” WHERE? What a question! Jesus asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” (15:33-34).

Think about being asked that question. “How many loaves do you have?” They answered, “Seven,” but they were likely thinking, “We only have SEVEN loaves for ALL these people!”

Consider two things about the Lord in this context: (1) The Lord had supplied whatever number of loaves they already had. (2) The Lord would supply whatever number of loaves they would need to do His work.  Friend, let me ask you, “How many loaves do you have?” In other words: (1) What has the Lord already given you? (2) Do you trust that He will give you all that you need? Just as in Matthew 15:32, know that He has “compassion” on you!
