Let's Go Back to the Bible

Brother or sister, please don’t turn!

Sometimes our faith weakens. Sometimes our trust wavers. Sometimes our confidence wanes. Sometimes our priorities shift. Sometimes our devotion fades. Sometimes our desires change. And, when that happens, sometimes we fall from where we need to be. We may even “turn.”

God was the one who used the word “turn” to describe the action that a mind/heart takes, which is followed by the body/life. While one may “turn TO” God (Acts 26:20; 1 Thess. 1:9), he can also “turn AWAY” or “turn FROM” God (1 Tim. 5:15; 2 Pet. 2:21). This is not merely a matter of turning from the church or “from the truth” (Tit. 1:14), but turning away “from Him who called you in the grace of Christ” (Gal. 1:6).

Brother or sister, our loving Father “called you in the grace of Christ.” The grace of Christ led Him to give “Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age” (1:4). Please, please don’t turn from Him! And if you are on that verge, please turn back! You are loved!
