A simple “one another” check-up

The reciprocal pronoun “one another” is found 89 times in 81 verses in the New Testament, emphasizing the great responsibility that Christians have to “one another.” The most practical book for daily Christian living (i.e., the book of James) has the expression in three verses. 2019-07-03-A-simple-one-another-check-up

First, “Do not speak evil against one another” (4:11). Stop for a moment. Do you speak against (slander) any fellow Christians–the elders, the preachers, the young people, the old people, etc.? God says, “Do not!” Second, “Do not complain (or grumble) against one another” (5:9). Stop for another moment. Do you complain (or groan) about fellow Christians–the elders, the preachers, the young people, the old people, etc.? God says, “Do not!” Third, “Pray for one another” (5:16). Stop for one final moment. Do you pray (specifically) for your fellow Christians–the elders, the preachers, the young people, the old people, etc.? God says, “Do it.”

This simple check-up has three parts. How’d you do? Any room for improvement?
