Let's Go Back to the Bible

The Joy of Being Involved

My heart is filled with joy that I am part of a congregation which seeks to glorify God and let the light of the Lord shine through us. So many wonderful challenges confront us and each of you seems so ready to serve Him.

We have just finished our annual lectureship which has been part of this work for seventeen years. At the conclusion of each one, my heart says that it was the best we have ever had. It wonders how it could get any better. I sincerely believe that this lectureship surpassed them all. Take time visit our website (www.ChurchOn95.com) to listen to or to download each message. I am closer to God than I have ever been, and the lessons by our visiting speakers have made this happen. Thanks to all of you who stepped to the front and did your part in making it all happen.

What lies before us? This Friday, beginning at 5:00 p.m., we will be labeling 100,000 copies of House to House to be mailed to the 500 homes around every member’s house. We did this just weeks ago, and the response has been remarkable with many new visitors coming our way. We need you to be one of the 100+ members who show up for this monumental task! Your neighbors will receive this magazine soon. Think of the joy of knowing you were involved in sending it!

What lies before us? Three weeks ago our new educational program was introduced in David’s sermon, and we are just weeks away from it becoming a reality. My guess is that hundreds of hours, perhaps thousands, have gone into the preparation of this unique educational program for our young people. There are still ways you can help. Think of the joy of knowing you were involved in changing the eternal destiny of our young people.

What lies before us? We will begin the new year with the challenges of Mission Sunday. This will be enhanced because it coincides with the Blackmer family being here. Just wait until you can hear of the challenges awaiting us in the special contribution. Think of the joy of knowing you are a vital part of the evangelistic efforts of this church.

What lies before us? Early next year, we will implement an exciting way to get every member involved in the work of this congregation. It is radically different from what has gone on before. Our deacons are hard at work to develop the program and lead us all to do more for Him.

What lies before us? Our gospel meeting will be conducted the first of March, and we are so blessed that Dan Winkler will be the speaker. Those who heard him in the lectureship know of his ability. Think of the joy you will have in sitting with your friends to hear him. I am excited!
