Let's Go Back to the Bible

Who are you?

If God is the one “who comforts” and is “your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth” and is “the Lord your God, Who divided the sea whose waves roared,” then here is God’s question for you—“Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die?” (Isa. 51:12-15).  We spend so much of our time being “controlled,” as it were, by the wishes, expectations and demands of others (described in this passage as our “oppressors,” who “will die” and “will be made like grass”), that we too often lose sight of Who is really in control and should be in control of our lives.

Think about what God has done (look in verse 16).  (1) He has given us His words.  (2) He said, “I have covered you with the shadow of My hand.”  (3) He has said, “You are My people.”

Reflect for a moment on WHO God is, WHAT He extends to you, and HOW He has worked in your life.  Then, consider this question, “Who are you that you should be afraid of a man?”
