What kind of year have you had?

As you evaluate the past year of your life, how would you rate it?  Was it a good year?  Was it a bad year?  Was it an about-normal year?  Was it an above-average year?  Was it the worst-ever year?  What sorts of things went right for you in the past year?  What sorts of thing went wrong?

The question on which I’d like you to concentrate is this:  What has God done for you in the last 12 months? Whether you’ve had a good year or a bad year, what has God done for you in the last 12 months?  Whether it was one of the best years or your worst year ever, what has God done for you in the last 12 months?

It is so easy to concentrate on the challenges, the troubles, the heartaches, the devastations of life.  It is fairly easy to see the things that we ourselves have accomplished on “our own.”  But, stop and make a list.  What has God done for you in the last 12 months? All the big things He’s done.  All the little things He’s done.  It may surprise you what the Lord has done!
