Let's Go Back to the Bible

Walking With God

There are two individuals in the Bible of whom it is said they “walked with God.” Many know the first one—Enoch. The second one is Noah. What is the character of one who walks with God?

Perhaps the answer is found, in part, in Psalm 15. This psalm begins by asking the question, “Who may dwell in Your holy hill?” The answer is given by listing ten attributes of that individual. The first one is, “He who walks uprightly.” Is this not descriptive of the character of one who walks with God? Walking with God may mean more than the things in this list, but it does include them!

Look at the rest of the list and measure your life by it. He works righteousness. He speaks truth. He does not backbite. He does no evil to his neighbor. He does not take up a reproach. He despises vile people. He honors those who fear God.  He swears (truthfully) even if it brings personal hurt. He does not loan money at exorbitant rates. He does not take a bribe. So take a look at yourself. Are you walking where God walks?
